Revival Room Design Studio

FAQ'S

Working with Revival Room: Your Questions, Answered.
Q: How much does it cost to hire Revival Room Design Studio?
A: This is the question we get most, and the honest answer is: it depends on the scope. Some designers charge hourly, and some (like us) prefer flat-fee packages so you know your investment upfront, before a single design decision is made. At Revival Room, we build tailored design packages designed just for you. Our packages range from a single room color refresh to a full home design - and it all is priced clearly so there are no surprises waiting for you at the end.
Q: What is the difference between an interior designer and a decorator?
A: Think of it this way: a decorator focuses on the finishing touches, like furniture, textiles, accessories and color. An interior designer can do all of that, plus the bones of the space such as layout and structural changes. At Revival Room, we offer both ends of that spectrum - from focused color consulting to full, tailored design packages - always guided by our Signature PLAY System, so the result reflects your story, not just a trend.
Q: Can I hire a designer for a small project, or only for full renovations?
A: Only full renovations? Not even close. Our packages are tailored design packages and are designed just for you, which means they flex to fit projects of any size. We can tackle a single accent wall that's never felt right, an exterior that needs curb-appeal love before listing, or a full room redesign. You don't need a five-bedroom remodel to deserve expert eyes on your space.
Q: How long does a design project take?
A: A single room project typically wraps in a week or two from our first conversation to your final design in hand. Full-home design packages take longer, since we are considering how each room flows into the next. We will always give you a clear timeline upfront so you're not left wondering when the finishing touches are finally going to show up.
Q: Will you work with the furniture and decor I already have?
A: Always. We're not in the business of telling you to start from scratch, we're in the business of making what you already love work harder for you. Your grandmother's quilt, that sofa you saved up for, the art you can't part with: every tailored design package is built around your life, not the other way around.
Q: How involved do I need to be in the process?
A: As involved as you want to be, and not one bit more. In order to customize the design just for you, we will ask you to talk to us- especially early on. Some clients want to be part of every decision; others hand us the keys (figuratively-mostly) and want to be pleasantly surprised at the reveal. Either way, we'll always check in before anything moves forward without you.
Q: I'm not sure exactly what I want - can you still help?
A: That is exactly what we are here for. Once we've gotten to know your space and your story, our job is to act as your creative guide - drawing on over a decade of experience to craft a space where you and your loved ones can relax and play. You don't need a Pinterest board ready to go; you just need to show up.
Q: What happens during the first consultation?
A: It's a chance for us to get to know you, your space, and to figure out together if Revival Room is the right fit for your project. The consultation runs about an hour and takes the form of a "walk and talk" through your space: what's working, what isn't, what your hopes and dreams are for the room(s), and - just as important - what's driving you crazy about it right now. From there, you'll receive a proposal within a week. Once it's signed, we schedule your Signature PLAY Deep Dive interview, and that's when the real fun begins.
Q: What is the PLAY Deep Dive Interview, and do I have to know my style going in?
A: Not even a little The PLAY Deep Dive Interview is where we discover more about you - after all it is you who we are designing for. PLAY is an acronym. We excavate your Passions and Pursuits, your Leisure Time, your Activities and Amusements, and most importantly YOUR unique story. At the end of the interview, we play a quick game of This or That. If you walked in with no idea what you like and dislike, you'll walk out knowing a whole lot more.
Q: Can you work within my budget, and what about vendor or paint recommendations?
A: Yes - our tailored design packages are priced clearly upfront, so you know the cost of your project from day one. As for vendors and paint brands, we recommend what genuinely works best for your space, your light, and your goals. Quality and fit come first, always. And if you choose to add extras along the way such as an additional mood board, and extra round or revisions, or a contractor call - we will always flag the cost before it's added, never after.
Still have a question we didn't cover? That's what a consultation is for - reach out and let's talk it through. At the end of the day, our goal is simple: a dazzling space that is truly your own personal playground.
